EWI-240 EPS Adhesive

Product Overview

EPS Adhesive EWI-240 is a quick-drying, flexible and durable one-component polyurethane adhesive supplied for use with an applicator gun. Formulated as a low-pressure PU adhesive, it is designed for the efficient fixing of graphite EPS and XPS insulation boards to façades and foundation areas. Its fast setting characteristics support rapid installation while delivering a strong and reliable bond across a range of substrates.

Intended Uses

EWI-240 EPS Adhesive is used for bonding expanded polystyrene (EPS), graphite EPS and XPS insulation boards to suitable substrates as part of external wall insulation and foundation insulation systems. It is compatible with a variety of common construction materials, including concrete, ceramic surfaces, timber and PVC, offering flexibility across different site conditions.

Application Conditions

The adhesive should not be applied in rain or humid conditions, or where wet weather is expected before the material has set. Application should take place in temperate weather and must not be carried out in temperatures above 30 °C. Work should be postponed if the substrate or materials are frozen, or where there is a risk of frost within the first 24 hours after application. Initial fixing time is typically around 2 hours, with full curing achieved after 24–48 hours depending on environmental conditions and humidity. The adhesive allows a correction time of approximately 4 minutes after application.
