Royal British Legion
In 2023, we took the first step in organising a new Charity partnership with the Royal British Legion (RBL), often simply known as the British Legion. While this is being set up, we have spent little time in starting to fundraise for this amazing cause! RBL is a British charity providing financial, social, and emotional support to members and veterans of the British Armed Forces, their families, and dependents. Founded in 1921, the organisation emerged after the First World War in response to the needs of ex-servicemen and women who faced various hardships upon returning to civilian life.
It provides a comprehensive range of welfare services to enhance the physical and mental well-being of its members, including aid for injured veterans, financial guidance, and housing support. The RBL is also prominent in national Remembrance services through its iconic Poppy Appeal, raising funds for its charitable activities. Beyond welfare, the Legion actively advocates for service members’ and veterans’ rights and interests, influencing public policy and legislation. Additionally, it nurtures a strong community spirit among its members through local branches, clubs, and various events. The organisation also marks its presence by commemorating significant military events and anniversaries, underlining its commitment to honouring and supporting those who have served in the British Armed Forces.

‘The RBL is a cause incredibly close to my heart as I am from a military family – on both sides! My parents were both part of the Army’s Royal Logistics Corp and my Grandfather was in the 11th Hussars regiment and is currently a member of the RBL in Dover. Charity Football Match vs Baxter Kelly Ltd
Recently, our team had the privilege of taking to the pitch in a charity football match against Baxter Kelly Ltd, an event that was nothing short of a 90-minute spectacle filled with skill, sportsmanship, and camaraderie. The game featured an array of cracking goals that had everyone on the edge of their seats, coupled with great banter that echoed the friendly yet competitive spirit of both teams. While Baxter Kelly Ltd emerged victorious in this closely contested battle, we extend our hearty congratulations to them for their well-deserved win. This match was more than just a game; it was a testament to our shared commitment to making a difference through charity, fostering community spirit, and building lasting relationships.
