What is Our Sustainability Roadmap?

As a company committed to a greener future, we’ve developed a comprehensive Sustainability Roadmap to systematically lower our carbon footprint and contribute to global sustainability efforts. This roadmap is not just a plan; we pledge to make significant changes in how we operate, with set milestones to ensure accountability and progress. Here’s a closer look at our strategy and its impact on sustainability.

Q1 2024 – Collaborating with Switch2Zero

Our journey begins in the first quarter of 2024 when we will start collaborating with Switch2Zero to offset our carbon footprint monthly. By investing in carbon offset projects, we aim to balance out our emissions by supporting renewable energy, forest conservation, and other projects that absorb or reduce greenhouse gases. This is a crucial step in mitigating our immediate environmental impact. It also allows us to work on long-term strategies to reduce our actual emissions.

Q2 2024 – Smart Meter Installation

In the second quarter of 2024, we’ll complete the installation of smart meters at all our sites. These smart meters are vital in our quest for sustainability as they provide real-time data on energy usage. This enables us to identify and reduce unnecessary power consumption, thereby directly lowering our carbon emissions. Smart metering is not just a tool for efficient energy management; it’s a step towards responsible energy consumption.

Q3 2024 – Achieving CSR, FORS, and B Corp Accreditations

The third quarter of 2024 focuses on achieving Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) accreditation, Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) certification, and B Corp accreditation. These accreditations are not just badges of honour. They signify our commitment to sustainable best practices in all areas of our business, from operations and logistics to employee welfare and community engagement. Achieving these standards ensures that we operate not just for profit, but also for the planet and people.

Q4 2024 – Reducing Staff Carbon Footprint

By the end of 2024, in partnership with Switch2Zero, we will start offsetting a portion of our staff’s carbon footprint monthly. This initiative recognises the importance of individual contributions to our collective environmental impact. It also empowers our employees to be more conscious of their carbon footprint, both in the workplace and in their personal lives.

2028 – Eliminating Non-Recyclable Plastic Packaging

Our 2028 milestone is focused on eradicating non-recyclable plastic from our packaging. This move not only reduces our waste but also encourages the use of sustainable materials. By decreasing reliance on non-recyclable plastics, we’re taking a significant step towards reducing our environmental impact and leading by example in sustainable packaging practices.

2029 – 50% Reduction in Carbon Footprint

By 2029, we aim to have halved our carbon footprint. This ambitious goal will be achieved through a combination of strategies including energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption, waste reduction, and sustainable procurement. A 50% reduction is a significant milestone in our journey towards sustainability and reflects our commitment to meaningful environmental action.

2030 – Transition to an All-Electric Fleet

In 2030, we plan to complete our transition to an all-electric vehicle fleet. This move is crucial in reducing our transportation emissions, one of the major contributors to our carbon footprint. Electric vehicles (EVs) offer a cleaner alternative to fossil-fuel-powered vehicles, and this transition underscores our commitment to sustainable mobility solutions.

2040 – Net Zero Carbon Goal

Our ultimate goal is to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2040. This means balancing the amount of carbon we emit with the amount we remove from the atmosphere. Achieving net zero will require continued innovation, investment in green technologies, and a company-wide commitment to sustainability.
