Product Overview

EWI-749 Lime Plaster is a pre-mixed decorative plaster based on natural aerial lime and natural pozzolans, formulated to achieve a fine, smooth and shrinkage-free finish. Carefully selected aggregates and additives provide extended working time, improved workability, strong adhesion and water repellence. The result is a highly breathable plaster with a natural, high-quality appearance, suitable for both façades and internal walls. Its porous structure allows water vapour to pass through the surface, helping to regulate moisture levels and improve indoor comfort while reducing the risk of condensation.

Intended Uses

EWI-749 Lime Plaster is intended for use in the refurbishment and conservation of buildings of historical and architectural value, where a breathable and traditionally appropriate decorative finish is required. It is suitable for internal and external applications and is designed solely as a finishing layer. The plaster must be applied over a suitable breathable base, such as a hydraulic lime mortar or compatible render, which provides the required technical performance of the wall build-up.

Application Conditions

The plaster should not be applied directly onto bare masonry, waterproof substrates or surfaces exposed to direct and persistent rainwater, such as horizontal or inclined areas. It is applied using a stainless-steel trowel at a typical thickness of 3–4 mm, depending on the desired finish. Where a polished appearance is required, the surface can be burnished with the trowel once the material begins to firm up, smoothing repeatedly until the required texture is achieved. Adequate detailing should be in place to prevent water run-off across the finished façade.
