EWI-087 Render Shield

Product Overview
Render Shield is a transparent, breathable surface protection designed to safeguard rendered façades against the unpredictable British climate. Once applied, it forms a vapour-permeable, hydrophobic film that significantly reduces surface absorbency while maintaining a natural matte appearance. By limiting rainwater penetration, dirt ingress and biological growth, Render Shield helps protect render surfaces from weather-related deterioration, discolouration and staining, allowing façades to retain a clean, uniform appearance over time.
Intended Uses
Render Shield is intended for use on absorbent mineral construction surfaces, both internally and externally, where long-term water repellence and surface protection are required. It is suitable for use on mineral renders without gypsum content, stone cladding, concrete, terrazzo, mineral paint coatings, silicate surfaces, ceramic and cement roof tiles, cement-fibre panels and rendered walls. Once cured, it provides a breathable protective layer that helps reduce damage associated with moisture ingress, frost action, salt crystallisation, surface soiling and biological contamination.

Application Conditions
All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease, soot or any contaminants that may impair adhesion. Render Shield is supplied ready to use and must not be diluted or mixed with other materials. Stir thoroughly before use and apply using a brush or roller when temperatures are between +5 °C and +25 °C. Typical coverage is approximately 0.1 litres per square metre, depending on substrate absorbency.
