EWI-747 Lime Render NHL 3.5

Product Overview
EWI-747 Lime Render NHL 3.5 is the flagship render within the EWI Pro Heritage Range, developed for projects where breathability, durability and long-term building health are essential. Formulated using natural hydraulic lime, it allows moisture vapour to pass freely through the building fabric, helping walls dry naturally rather than trapping damp within the structure.
Unlike cement-based renders, EWI-747 sets through carbonation, gradually absorbing CO₂ as it cures. Free from chemical additives, it provides a completely natural and sustainable finish while maintaining the flexibility required for traditional masonry. This makes it particularly well suited to heritage renovation, conservation work and buildings where breathable construction methods are required.well-suited

Intended Uses
EWI-747 Lime Render NHL 3.5 is suitable for both internal and external applications on traditional mineral substrates, including solid brickwork, stone and historic masonry. It is commonly used on external façades, chimneys and exposed architectural features, as well as on internal walls where breathable materials are required to support natural moisture regulation. The render is particularly appropriate for renovation and conservation projects where vapour-permeable materials are specified and where the building fabric must remain breathable.

Application Conditions
Substrates must be firm, clean and free from contaminants such as dust, grease, salts, efflorescence or loose material that could impair adhesion. Prior to application, the substrate should be lightly dampened with clean water to prevent rapid dehydration and to support proper curing of the lime render. On uneven or irregular backgrounds, a levelling layer of the same mortar may be applied and allowed to firm up before the final render coat is installed.
EWI-747 should be mixed with approximately 4–5 litres of clean water per 23 kg bag until a smooth and homogeneous mortar is achieved. The render can be applied manually with a trowel or by spray machine, typically in layers between 4–10 mm thick. Where greater thickness is required, the render should be applied in multiple coats, allowing each layer to firm up before the next is applied. Once placed, the surface should be floated to achieve the desired traditional lime finish.
