Product Overview

PRO-511 Hardset is a high-elasticity, fibre-reinforced internal undercoat designed to level and prepare masonry surfaces prior to the application of finishing plaster. Formulated with reinforcing fibres and polymers, it provides excellent flexibility and crack resistance while creating a strong, stable base for internal plaster systems. Its robust composition allows uneven brick and block substrates to be flattened efficiently, producing a uniform surface ready for final decorative finishes.

Intended Uses

PRO-511 Hardset is designed for internal levelling and preparation of masonry substrates before the application of finishing plasters. It is suitable for use on brick and blockwork, as well as existing cement or lime plasters and renders that require flattening or surface correction. The product is particularly useful where uneven backgrounds need to be trued before internal plastering works, ensuring a stable and consistent substrate for subsequent finishing layers.

Application Conditions

Substrates must be clean, stable and free from dust, grease, paint residues and other contaminants that could affect adhesion. Surfaces should be correctly primed using PRO-313 Green Internal Grit before application. The dry mix should be combined with approximately 6.5 litres of clean water and mixed until a smooth, homogeneous mortar is achieved. Apply the material using a hawk and trowel at a thickness of 3-20 mm, then level the surface using a straight edge to remove high spots. Finish with a devil float to create a keyed surface ready for plaster. Application should be carried out at ambient temperatures between +5°C and +25°C.
