EWI-749 Fine Finish Lime Plaster

Product Overview
EWI-749 Fine Finish Lime Plaster is a decorative lime plaster designed to deliver a smooth, refined traditional lime finish for both internal and external applications. Formulated with natural aerial lime, natural pozzolans and carefully graded aggregates, it provides excellent workability and produces a shrinkage-free surface with a delicate, high-quality appearance.
Highly breathable and vapour-permeable, EWI-749 allows walls to regulate moisture naturally, helping reduce condensation risk while improving indoor comfort. Its fine texture makes it particularly well-suited to heritage restoration and projects where a subtle, elegant lime finish is required.

EWI-749 Lime Plaster is designed as a decorative finishing coat within breathable lime systems. It is suitable for refurbishment, conservation and new build projects where a fine lime finish is required on internal walls or protected external façades.
The plaster must be applied over a compatible breathable lime basecoat or render and should not be applied directly onto masonry or non-breathable substrates.

Application Conditions
Substrates must be firm, clean and free from dust, grease, salts, efflorescence or loose material that could affect adhesion. The plaster should only be applied to suitable lime-based basecoats that provide the required technical performance. Prior to application, the surface should be lightly dampened to support proper curing and prevent rapid dehydration.
EWI-749 should be mixed with clean water until a smooth, workable mortar is achieved and applied using a stainless-steel trowel. The plaster is typically applied at a thickness of 2–3 mm, with a maximum thickness of 4 mm per coat. For a polished finish, the surface can be burnished with the trowel as the plaster begins to firm, creating the desired sheen and traditional lime appearance.
