EWI-747F Fine Finish Lime Render NHL 3.5

Product Overview

EWI-747F Fine Finish Lime Render NHL 3.5 is a refined finishing render developed for projects that require a smoother, more elegant lime finish while maintaining the breathability and durability associated with traditional lime systems. Formulated with natural hydraulic lime, it provides excellent vapour permeability, flexibility and long-term performance, making it suitable for both heritage restoration and sympathetic modern construction.

Like all products within the EWI Pro Heritage Range, EWI-747F contains no chemical additives and cures through carbonation, gradually absorbing CO₂ as it hardens. Its finer texture allows contractors and specifiers to achieve a more polished and subtle appearance while preserving the natural character and long-term building health benefits of breathable lime construction.

Intended Uses

EWI-747F Fine Finish Lime Render is suitable for both internal and external applications and is typically used as a finishing coat over lime render base layers. It is particularly well suited to solid brick, stone and traditional masonry substrates where a refined lime finish is required. The product is commonly used on external façades, chimneys and heritage masonry, as well as on internal walls where a smooth, breathable decorative surface is desired. It is especially appropriate for heritage and conservation projects where a traditional lime aesthetic must be maintained while achieving a more polished finish.

Application Conditions

Substrates must be firm, clean and free from contaminants such as dust, grease, salts, efflorescence or loose material that could impair adhesion. Prior to application, the surface should be lightly dampened with clean water to support proper curing and reduce the risk of rapid dehydration and cracking. Where substrates are uneven, a compatible lime basecoat should be applied and allowed to firm up before the finishing render is installed.

EWI-747F should be mixed with approximately 4–5 litres of clean water per 23 kg bag until a smooth and homogeneous mortar is achieved. The material can be applied by hand with a trowel or using a spray machine, typically at a thickness of 4–10 mm. Where additional thickness is required, the render should be built up in multiple layers, allowing each coat to firm up before the next is applied. The surface can then be floated to achieve the desired smooth lime finish.
