EWI-303 Gel Primer

Product Overview

EWI-303 Gel Primer is a non-drip, deep-penetrating primer formulated with specialist polymers to improve adhesion and regulate absorbency on mineral substrates. Its gel-like consistency helps minimise drips and splashes during application, allowing for cleaner, more controlled priming on walls and ceilings. Once applied, it penetrates deeply into the substrate to strengthen the surface and create a stable, uniform base for subsequent finishes such as plasters, paints, basecoats and tile adhesives.

Intended Uses

EWI-303 Gel Primer is designed for priming a wide range of mineral substrates before the application of internal coatings and finishes. It is suitable for use on concrete, reinforced concrete, masonry, brickwork, ceramic blocks, cement-lime plasters, gypsum and anhydrite plasters, plasterboard and screeds. The primer helps regulate surface absorbency and improve adhesion for materials such as dispersion paints, decorative coatings, plasters, basecoats, tile adhesives and wall coverings. On highly absorbent substrates such as autoclaved aerated concrete, double priming may be required to achieve optimal performance.

Application Conditions

Substrates must be clean, dry, structurally sound and free from dust, oils, grease, curing agents or other contaminants that may affect adhesion. Weak layers, peeling coatings or damaged areas should be removed and repaired prior to application. EWI-303 Gel Primer is supplied ready to use and must not be diluted or mixed with other materials. Stir thoroughly before use and apply evenly using a roller, brush or spray. Typical drying time is approximately 2 hours at 20°C, although this may vary depending on substrate absorbency and site conditions. During application and drying, protect the primed surface from frost, rain, high temperatures and strong winds.
