One Coat Render EWI-265

One Coat Render (OCR) is a cement-lime coating that is designed to create a smooth surface on external walls before applying a decorative finish. It is intended to be applied using a spray machine which can be achieved in just one pass. Once applied, OCR is embedded with a Fibreglass Mesh to enhance its tensile strength. Then, once set, OCR can be coated with paint to achieve a decorative finish or a thin-coat render to enhance the durability of the topcoat finish.

Intended Uses

One Coat Render is intended for creating a smooth surface on a substrate before applying a decorative finish. The render comes as a dry mix; therefore, it requires mixing with water. OCR is ideally applied using a spray machine onto brickwork, blockwork, concrete/reinforced concrete, autoclaved aerated concrete and silicate blocks.

Application Conditions

  • OCR should be applied in temperate weather and should not be used in temperatures above 30°C. Likewise, if the materials or the substrate are frozen, or if there is any risk of frost damage within the first 24 hours, work should be postponed.
  • OCR should not be applied in rainy or humid conditions or if wet weather is expected before the render has set.
  • Setting time is dependent upon environment and humidity. OCR will reach optimal strength after 28 days.
