Heritage Lime NaCl EWI-293

The Heritage Lime NaCl is a substrate preparation layer, designed for application onto walls with medium/high salt levels. The Lime NaCl works to retain salts within the substrate, preventing them from bleeding through to the external render finish. Due to the presence of lime within the basecoat, this product is ideal for use with lime render systems on heritage restoration projects. The Lime Basecoat creates a smooth, vapour permeable and waterproof surface which is ideal for the application of the Heritage Lime Render.

Intended Uses

The Heritage Lime NaCl is ideal for use within a lime render system. It is light grey in colour, and can be painted or finished with lime products to achieve a smooth, traditional finish. The product is ideal for use on substrates that display existing signs of salt and efflorescence. If applying the Heritage Lime Render directly onto the NaCl, we recommend scratching the surface back to provide a mechanical key for the render to adhere to.

Application Conditions

  • Application and setting temperature: from +5°C to +25°C.
  • The NaCl should be applied in temperate weather and should not be used in temperatures above 30°C.
  • The Heritage Lime NaCl should be left to set for at least 3 days before any further works are carried out.
  • EWI-293 should be mixed with approximately 5 litres of water per 25kg of dry mix.
