Heritage Lime Harling EWI-291

The Heritage Lime Harling is a substrate preparation layer which is ideal for use on heritage restoration properties. The Lime Harling essentially creates a roughcast effect, which provides a mechanical key for further materials to bond to. Due to the presence of lime within the material, the Heritage Lime Harling is completely vapour-permeable and offers a strong adhesion to substrates with a high salt content.

Intended Uses

The Heritage Lime Harling is a watery slurry which is intended for machine or manual application on external walls. The product should create a rough surface to aid the adhesion of further lime-based materials. This product is suitable for application onto substrates with a high level of absorption, or those that have been previously painted.

Application Conditions

  • Application and setting temperature: from +5°C to +25°C.
  • The Harling should be applied in temperate weather and should not be used in temperatures above 30°C.
  • The Heritage Lime Harling should be left to set for at least 3 days before any further works are carried out.
  • EWI-291 should be mixed with approximately 4 litres of water per 25kg of dry mix.
